A question to ensure you THINK, then act.

A question to ensure you THINK, then act.

Ask this question to avoid the trap of going with the first solution that comes to mind. While it looks simple, this question can jolt our minds into a different way of thinking.

It requires what I call a ‘triple-take’ because it cannot be answered in one mental leap. This makes it 'curly'. The inclusion of 'how do we know?' relates to another question 'are we asking the right question?' . Our mind needs to pause, reconcile the relationship between the two then explore possible answers to both, before reaching a conclusion. It's triple because it is question > question > answer.

This is a great example one of the key elements of Curly Thinking – namely ‘mindflow’. If you’re curious about Curly Thinking and how it works, check out the Get Unstuck audio series by clicking on the large image below.
