Psalm 1:1-2
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
I long for a blessing. But if I really want a blessing; I must make choices that draw me closer to the giver of blessings. I must choose wisely my friends. Do they lead me astray? Where do my loyalties lay? If I choose to only surround myself with men and women who bring me down I cannot hope to rise to holiness.
Bad company corrupts a good soul. I must surround myself with men and women of God who call me to higher levels of holiness. I must seek His Glory and refuse to go on unless He goes with me. I choose to spend time in His Word today. My life goal is to experience the blessing of an intimate relationship with the King of Kings. May I taste the fruit of His goodness and the peace that comes from knowing Him.
