Edgar Weggelaar Takes the Stage at #TIS2023: Advancing Diversity and Inclusion in Tourism
Our CEO Edgar W. , was part of #TIS2023 event as an advisor and as a speaker, participating in the discussion titled "Diversity and Inclusion in Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities". During the session, the importance of inclusive business travel practices was explored, and insights were shared while strategies were discussed to ensure that all employees had equal access to business travel opportunities, taking into consideration their diverse needs.
The topic was significant, reflecting the seismic shift in the industry regarding diversity and inclusion, even in terms of the evolving technology, from #DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) to #DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging).
Ajuntament de Dénia Empowers with LGBTQ+ Tourism Training with Queer Destinations
Ajuntament de Dénia conducts a training session on LGBTQ+ tourism. The session, led by Daniel Valero Aguilar and Queer Destinations , a global leader in LGBTQ+ tourism, began with welcoming words from the Mayor, #VicentGrimalt, and the Councilor for Equality and Diversity, #JavierScotto. Subsequently, the attendees were provided with information about the LGBTQ+ community, strategies to combat discrimination, and the significance of LGBTQ+ tourism.
Celebrating Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Nayarit's Renewed Commitment to LGBTQ+ Inclusion
We had the honor and great responsibility of, in collaboration with Mexico Travel Group – Gray Line Puerto Vallarta , receiving no less than 45 companies from the #PuertoVallarta and #NuevoNayarit tourism private sector to celebrate the renewal of this destination's historic commitment to the LGBTQ+ community and to better receive and understand the ways and new realities of the queer traveler.

We also had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Closing of the #GrayLineSightseeing Annual Conference, invited by Gray Line Worldwide; a gesture that we especially appreciate as it signifies the opening to new horizons of diversity and the joint search for new ways to collaborate with the community inside the tours, activities, and #HOHO busses. We are especially grateful to Gudrun Thorisdottir, president of Gray Line Worldwide, for encouraging Gray Line members to work with us for a sector more in line with other realities and new times.

We have been acknowledged as a success story and a best practice and invited to present our methodology to all European Union countries and key stakeholders in the tourism sector.
This validation is of paramount importance, signifying that Europe recognizes Queer Destinations' work #methodology as the future of tourism and opening the doors for collaborations with major countries and companies in the European tourism industry.
