Québec is considering a?new immigration program?that would accelerate the path to?permanent residence (PR) ?for francophone immigrants in the province ahead of the release of its next immigration plan.
In its new immigration program, Quebec plans to target “graduates from francophone CEGEP colleges and universities as well as temporary workers who have lived in the province for some time.”
On November 7, the Canadian province of Nova Scotia launched its latest francophone?immigration action plan ?to guide the province’s French-speaking population growth.
In collaboration with the Nova Scotia Ministry of Labour, Skills, and Immigration (LSI) and Acadian Affairs and Francophonie, the plan was developed by the Federation Acadienne de la Nouvelle-écosse, the Council of Economic Development of the Nouvelle-écosse, the Université Sainte-Anne, the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.
On November 16, the Canadian province of British Columbia changed its points system to revise point allocations for applicants.
As a result, the points system (which is used to determine applicants’ eligibility for?permanent residence ?under Express Entry-managed programs) has changed.
On October 12, IRCC presented digital modernization slides to immigration representatives and the Canadian Bar Association’s immigration law section in a meeting to offer a summary of modernizing Canada’s immigration process.
The Canadian government recognizes that modifying?Canada’s immigration application management systems? is crucial to the country’s prosperity. Immigration minister Sean Fraser said in a press release, “Application processing delays have been incredibly frustrating for many individuals.?
