Quarterly Inspection in the Northern Cape.

Quarterly Inspection in the Northern Cape.

Enos, Yoshlin, and Ian travelled to the Northern Cape for Quarterly Inspections on?Gamsberg and Black Mountain Mining TSFs.

Flying from Johannesburg, they routed via Upington to Pofadder. En route, they saw the Kai Solar Plant and Augrabies Falls.

The first inspection day at Gamsberg was very windy and cool. Vedanta and Fraser Alexander, however, have excelled in bringing the TSF back in line with the design intent. Ian Hammond, the EOR, commended all parties involved.

The next day was less windy and much warmer. The BMM TSF was inspected. The Operator and Mine Management/staff are doing very well there too.

The countryside here is very different. Harsh, windy, dry, hot. But beautiful. Quiver trees, occasional horses and sheep, intact fences, erratic cell phone signal, sociable weaver nests! Wonderful!
