TEAM NEWS
Sarah’s Summer at Nicky Affleck Consultancy
As Sarah, our Operations Intern wraps up her time with us, she?reflects on the valuable lessons and experiences she gained during her internship with us in a very insightful article.
"When I started my internship at Nicky Affleck Consultancy, I was feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. I knew this would be a crucial start to my journey in the sports business industry, but I had no idea just how much it would shape me in such a short period of time.
From the very beginning, the experience was both challenging and rewarding. One of my earliest projects was applying for a grant—something I’d never done before. At first it was overwhelming, but I quickly learned how to navigate the complex world of grant applications. This required meticulous attention to detail and a strategic approach. The satisfaction of successfully submitting the grant application was incredible, not just as an accomplishment for the business, but for me personally as well. It was the first time I realised just how impactful our work could be.
Reflecting on my time at Nicky Affleck Consultancy, I can confidently say that I achieved my primary goal: to learn and grow. The lessons I’ve learned about time management, effective communication, and project management are skills I’ll carry with me throughout my career. But more than that, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the sports business industry and what it takes to succeed in it. I’m leaving this internship with a solid foundation and a clear direction for the future, but also with a sense of gratitude for the people who made this experience so memorable. And for that, I couldn’t be more thankful."
We’re so proud of Sarah’s contributions and the progress she’s made this summer. And have loved having her as part of the team. Be sure to check out her full article for a deeper look into her journey.
