Quarantine and Chill, (Oops) Work!

Last Friday, I completed a full week of 'Work from Home'. And I distinctly remember, how bewildered I was on Monday. I took so much time adjusting myself in the pile of tasks and at 8 PM found none to be done.

With multiple anxiety attacks, not to complain but I realized I had much more work to do than in the office!

And it isn't easy to WORK FROM HOME.

Because your work from home is a cusp between the work and the zillion other things.

So, granulating all the tasks, I have some few tips to maintain the work productivity and not get dismissed in the burden of umpteen number of tasks!

  1. Maintain a list: Now, this is not something specific to the 'Work For Home' category, but maintaining one such list is so damn helpful.

But don't include things like: Need to take a shower, need to boil milk, etc. in your task list. Keep your personal issues separate from your professional ones even at home! *HEHEHAHAHAH*

Wake up and create the task list, either on your phone or on a sheet of paper. I prefer on my notebook (ALWAYS). It stays with me and I can manage by scribbling on it.

2. Hygiene:

Nine-tenths of our sickness can be prevented by right thinking plus right hygiene - nine-tenths of it!- Henry Miller

And no wonder, this is damn true!! Can you imagine yourself working sitting on a pile of dirty clothes, or keeping your laptop on a table full of wires and chips, or a table that has dinner's food stains?

Arggh!!

Unhygienic conditions not only play with your brain but also your productivity quotients.

So, get up and god damn move that lazy ass to the shower! Clean the table with a cloth or tissues, and clean your laptop too!

The more you clean your surroundings the more you save your brain from unnecessary blockers.

3. Sit Straight and Work: I know I know! Your bed is calling out loudly to embrace it in your arms and hug the cushy pillows and lie down with your laptop promising you to work!

Naah.

The worst idea to fall into those bed lures.

Once you lie down, you not just ruin your back structure but oh! you played with your work ethics too because soon you will think, a little nap has caused no wrong to anyone and BAM! your day is just lost around the stars.

4. Exercise: Well, this never gets old. But when at home, moving your waistline to all edges, touching your feet with straight knees, and jumping like an exciting beast, hurt no one! Be that beast.

While in office, you have Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

At home, you have Breakfast, Small snacks, lunch, snacks, chai, dinner, dessert.

So, keep those abs hidden under the fat, rolling! The more the roll, the more your cravings will get a place to subside.

5. Manage your tasks well: Now at home, you also need to make sure that your meals are sorted.

In fact, the carvings increase!

A pity situation for all of us.

So, beforehand decide on the meals. Try to prepare the easiest meals like Sunnyside up, egg bhurji, paneer bhurji, chillas, idlis, etc.

Such meals are easy to prepare, healthy to eat, and don't make you feel sleepy!

With so many options, you definitely are getting a lot of 'ME TIME', for the p[eople like me who always complain. I have started reading the 'Rocketmen' on my kindle after ages. I read a lot of online stuff too because I am not bombarded with huge heads on my table to get a task completed immediately. I spend more time sitting under the sunlight and working (Free Vitamin C inhalation), and ofcourse, I am able to focus a lot more on other tasks as well!

So, apart from the positive environmental changes out of this quarantined situation, make a positive change for yourself too!

Happy working from home!
