Quantum Cybersecurity Gets an NVIDIA Boost: Infleqtion at DCM3
Data breaches are a constant threat, costing businesses trillions. But imagine a future where those threats are neutralized before they happen. At Defence Cyber Marvel 3 (#DCM3), Europe’s largest Cyber exercise, Infleqtion demonstrated how 英伟达 -enabled quantum computing could usher in this new era of data defense. With AI tooling supporting quantum-secured data, we're exploring the potential of cybersecurity unlike anything seen before.?
The Challenge: Cybersecurity in the Quantum Age
DCM3, held from February 11 to 16, brought together teams from defense, government, industry, and international allies to collaborate and test advanced technologies in simulated cyber threat scenarios. Our participation underscored the growing recognition of quantum computing's capabilities in revolutionizing cybersecurity.??
DCM3 was a valuable platform to showcase how quantum computing can revolutionize data protection and bolster cyber resilience. It allowed personnel to train in combatting cyber threats in a controlled environment with cutting-edge science and technology such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence. We are proud to have collaborated with defense leaders on this critical initiative, demonstrating their commitment to forging a more secure future.?
The scope of DCM3 extends beyond traditional NATO partnerships, reflecting the global nature of cybersecurity threats. With representatives from 17 nations and sectors, such as healthcare and critical infrastructure, the exercise emphasized the breadth of these challenges.
"Quantum computing is going to be a game changer," said Major Sam McEvoy of the British Army Royal Corps of Signals. Major McEvoy, who led the segment of DCM3 focused on emerging technologies like AI and quantum, highlighted the need to develop competence and exposure to quantum computing among the ranks.?
Infleqtion Leads the Charge
As the exercise's lead quantum innovator, we showcased the power of our Superstaq quantum software platform – accelerated by 英伟达 technology – to tackle complex cybersecurity challenges.
Infleqtion's challenge tasked service members with writing quantum circuits following the Supercheq protocol. Soldiers, sailors, and aviators learned how to produce and compare “quantum fingerprints'' for files in a distributed database, highlighting the benefits of quantum computing for secure and efficient data management. Participants engaged with the company's flagship quantum software platform, #Superstaq, and Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) ' 32-qubit OQC Toshiko superconducting quantum computer to understand real-world quantum applications better.?

"Our Supercheq quantum fingerprinting protocol enables users to represent files with a large number of bits using exponentially fewer qubits,” said Pranav Gokhale , VP of Quantum Software at Infleqtion . “We were able to verify this advantage for real-world applications thanks to simulations on 英伟达 GPUs. The circuits for these large files can even be run on NISQ machines with more than 10x performance improvements using Superstaq’s built-in circuit optimizations."?
Accelerating Quantum Solutions
NVIDIA's technology was essential in empowering Infleqtion’s software team to verify how Supercheq’s advantage would scale in practice and demonstrated the accelerated potential of quantum computing in safeguarding critical data. Infleqtion successfully simulated state vectors and fidelity computation using NVIDIA GPUs, stretching the limits of classically simulable computations.??
“Nvidia GPUs and cuQuantum are reshaping algorithm validation for quantum advancements,” said Timothy Costa , Director of HPC and Quantum Computing Products at 英伟达 . “Supercheq’s successful application at DCM3 is a testament to this, marking a significant leap in fields like defense where security is paramount.”?
Infleqtion’s participation in DCM3 builds on our recent momentum, including being selected to develop and deliver a quantum computing testbed for the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) in the United Kingdom, Japan’s Quantum Moonshot program, the launch of Oqtant, the world’s first quantum matter service, and the strategic acquisitions of SiNoptiq Inc. and Morton Photonics Inc. The company recently provided a detailed update on its progress, including the first look at its 5-year roadmap for quantum computing.
The partnership between Infleqtion and NVIDIA highlights the immense potential of merging quantum information science with powerful computing solutions. Looking to the future, Infleqtion and NVIDIA will collaborate to bring NVIDIA Quantum Cloud GPU backends and APIs to Superstaq. Together, we're building a future where networks are more resilient, information is more secure, and the possibilities of quantum technology are fully realized.?
