QUANTRON encourages young talents - Report on the participation in the Hydrogen Summer School of Bayern Innovativ GmbH
Today, we want to share an inspiring experience from one of our young talents, Julia Schreier , who recently had the opportunity to participate in the Hydrogen Summer School organized by Bayern Innovativ GmbH , Dr. Thomas Helfer and Thomas Ramming . At QUANTRON , we hold a strong commitment to supporting personal development, and Julia's journey - starting as a Master's student, now an H2 Infrastructure Specialist - is a prime example of that dedication. In this article, Julia will share her firsthand account of this event:
The Hydrogen Summer School offers a versatile three-day program for collaborative learning and networking on an innovative topic, catering to diverse interest groups – from private individuals and company representatives exploring new business models to representatives from energy-intensive industries seeking alternative solutions. Already on the first day we were told that the Summer School has the claim to be exhausting; and true to this word ourfirst day started full of exciting presentations:
We kicked off with insights by hydrogen experts like Stefan Dürr (Center for Hydrogen.Bavaria) and Robin Puchert (State Agency for Energy and Climate Action), who gave us a detailed introduction to the basics of hydrogen with its function as a key technology for a sustainable energy system. Simone Hirschmann (geb. Lang) (Bayern Innovativ GmbH) concluded by showcasing various funding opportunities for hydrogen projects in Bavaria. This gave us a good overview of current trends in the H2 area and a common knowledge base on which we could later discuss and build.
Day two was all about Augsburg's hydrogen players. Paula Schlickenrieder (GP JOULE Group) showcased a sustainable use case of hydrogen in mobility, followed by exciting projects from Fraunhofer IGCV and the Institute for Materials Resource Management at the University of Augsburg.

The afternoon began with a visit of the electrolyzer manufacturer H-TEC SYSTEMS. Afterwards, together with Joerg Zwilling (Director Global Communications & Business Development at QUANTRON), I got the opportunity to introduce Quantron AG to my "classmates". A highlight for the participants was the opportunity to have a ride with our battery-electric truck. Sharing our passion for sustainable transport solutions and seeing how impressed they were with our holistic concept made the experience even more fulfilling. The day ended with a fireside chat at Augsburger Gaswerk, featuring our founder Andreas Haller and other industry experts.
The third day took place in Munich: We explored cutting-edge technologies at Cevotec , SIQENS GmbH , and Proton Motor Fuel Cell GmbH. And as promised, we drove home exhausted!
Summarizing I can say, this was an all-round and fast trip through the hydrogen word, bringing together theory and practice. Especially our group consisting of members with completely different background enabled various views and discussions on the hydrogen topic.
I was able to take a lot away from these three days and am grateful for the opportunity to be part of it. Many thanks to the organizers Thomas Ramming and Dr. Thomas Helfer for the eventful and exciting three days and to my classmates, who made it a great experience.
