?Please join our webinar for a technical deep-dive into the Trusted Pipeline Advisor corrosion model which was newly integrated in PIPESIM 2021.1. The sessions will each last 60 minutes, including a presentation and Q&A.
Abstract
The model, which is developed by David Richardson, founder of Smart-Project Management Inc./ Trusted Pipeline Advisor (TPA), represents a consolidation of hands-on experience gained during 40-years of providing direct support to integrity and field operations teams in upstream gathering, midstream and liquid pipeline operations. The TPA corrosion model considers industry-standard corrosion models (NACE / deWaard and Milliams) as the foundation of the corrosion hazard profile, but with subsequent adjustments that consider how water-film transport properties influence the severity of individual stagnant water traps along the pipeline route. The evaluation of the corrosion hazard profile considers the effects of acid gas (CO2 and H2S), bacteria, oxygen ingress, debris/sludge, and intermittent operations on the general corrosion and isolated pitting corrosion profiles.
The webinar will provide the background and theory behind the TPA model. In addition, there will be a live demo of PIPESIM main functionalities with a focus on flowline integrity and how the TPA corrosion model is used to identify corrosion hazards and rates along the pipelines with the visual color-coding presentation of the results.
