What exactly do quants do?

A quant refers to a person specializing in the implementation of statistical and mathematical methods in order to understand and forecast the financial markets' behavior. They are meant to reflect a given business condition in the form of numerical factors.

What is the concept of quant?

Quant, or quantitative analyst, is a highly skilled individual who blends mathematics, computer science, and other technical abilities to solve complex problems in the world of finance. The increasing use of technology and complex financial instruments on Wall Street is a result of the growing demand for quants.
