Many people know what the most popular quality related tools are, Brainstorming, Fishbone Diagram, Check Sheets, Pareto Diagram, Tally Charts, Basic Control Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Process Analysis, Histograms, Stratification etc. But! Do you really know how to get the best possible use out of them? The difference between just knowing them and having the skills to really take advantage of them is huge.
Why leave it to chance when you could, for only a normal consultancy fee plus expenses, have the services of probably the most experienced trainer in the world in this field, to help you right there on your own site or sites. David Hutchins helped one organisation save over $220m in less than 3 years and increase productivity by 25% in the same period. He has many other examples.

5 年David It is a management decision in cooperation with the working force making sure that the real gaps are filled in and the working? force's suggestions are heard and respected. You must always try a win-win situation, my view.

5 年To add a little bit myself if I may. Personnel must be knowledgeable and engaged as part of the sustainability effort of any organisation.

5 年You could put it more simply and say, treat others the way you wish to be treated yourself. Generally people want to do good work. If the results are otherwise, find out what is wrong with the process not the people.

5 年I do not disagree with you but unless people know what is expected of them and their skills developed to perform the tasks expected, provided with the tools to do good work, have the means to check their own work against what is required, and also the means to take corrective action on the difference, then the management job is incomplete and any subsequent deficiencies are management controllable not worker controllable and you may not get the results you want. Toyota did not invent any of this. The concept predates their recognition of it by a wide margin. Read Dr Juran's book Managerial Breakthrough from the mid 1950s and Professor Ishikawa's work after that. Toyota picked it up in 1963 from one of their leading suppliers Aisin Saiki and it was widely known in many companies in Japan way before that. Also read about the American social scientists in the I930s, the roles of MITI, JUSE, Homer Sarasohn, the Zeibatzu and others in Japan from 1945 plus the inputs of Komatsu, Nissan, Honda, National Panasonic, Mitsubishi, and you will discover thst Toyota was only one of many.
