Quality Leadership tips from an old Mentor

Tips on quality leadership from someone who spent 60 years of his career in the industry as quality leader.  He passed away but his words remained and once told me.....

1. QM supports the business needs. When the business fail, you fail.

2. View the organization and QMS as a system that relies on human factors. Understand the people before you criticize the culture.

3. Quality is a philosophy not a function. It always works well when you generate buy in than just enforcing it.

4. Process is only as good as the people following it. Create one that is simple and would make sense to the company.

5. As a QM, your peers success is yours. Help them succeed everyday.
