Quality in Interior Design! What`s that?

Quality in interior design is mainly defined by the quality of raw materials used in the product and the quality of craftmanship. The most common raw materials used are plywood, particle board, veneer, glue, laminate, paint etc.

The quality of plywood is very important, as it is the structure which holds the design. Plywood is made by compressing and bonding thin layers of wood to form a thick rectangular shaped wood. Plywood is available in multiple grades according to the quality of wood used in the manufacturing process.

Particle boards are commonly used in the manufacture of kitchen shutters. Particle boards are manufactured by either compressing wood dust or wood chips under high pressure. The particle boards are also available in different grades of quality.

Veneers are thin layers of wood glued to the surface of the plywood. Whereas, laminates are made of specially decorative papers and absorbent kraft paper impregnated with melamine and phenolic resins, these are then pressed and hardened under heat and high pressure. The laminates of the required design are then glued to the surface of the particle board.

The quality of the laminates and veneers refers to it`s resistance to cracking and warping. A high quality laminate and a high quality veneer does not crack in due course of time.

One of the most important raw materials in interior design is the glue. A high quality glue bonds the materials uniformly and is resistant to external factors such as moisture and heat.

Similarly, the paints used in manufacturing also play a vital role. They need to be resistant to moisture and heat, to protect the internal structure from the atmosphere.

Quality of labor refers to the experience that the execution team consists. It refers to the craftsmanship that the labor force has. The execution team with high experience produce a high quality product in terms of finish and structure.

So, the quality of raw materials and quality of craftmanship plays an important role in the quality of the final product.
