Position Overview

The Quality Specialist supports the site ensuring that all materials that are manufactured, processed, packaged, received, stored, and distributed align with the Quality specifications set in place and that all regulatory requirements are met. These individuals will conduct the necessary tests on both the process and the product and will work with the Production Department and customers on deviations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, analyze, and verify the quality of both raw materials and finished goods to ensure all aspects of the Production process meet the specifications set forth by the customer.
  • Perform inspections, test, and determine that all start-ups match Quality pack standards and regularly perform Quality inspection checks throughout the shift to ensure that Production specifications don’t deviate.
  • Maintain all documentation processes according to the Quality Control measures put in place.
  • Notify Quality and Production Leadership when a non-conforming material or process is noted.
  • Recommend potential corrective action measures based on the results of tests or inspections.
  • Document and update all Quality Control SOPs, Work Instructions and Production Process measures to ensure that a standardized Quality procedure is in place.
  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, Policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices and any other regulatory guidelines.
  • Follow all quality and site GMP requirements
  • Follow all safety procedures including reporting all incidents
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Education: High School Diploma or greater

Experience in Role: 0-2 Years

Experience in Industry: 2+ Years

Supervisor Experience: N/A

Lean Certification: Preferred, but not required

Multi-Lingual: Preferred

ISO Experience: Required

Position Physical Requirements

  • The physical ability to sit frequently
  • The physical ability to stand and/or walk frequently
  • The physical ability to occasionally bend/stoop, kneel, crouch, and squat
  • The physical ability to use both hands for frequent grasping and occasional fine manipulation and fingering
  • The physical ability to frequently carry up to 50 pounds of weight distances of up to 600 feet
  • The physical ability to frequently lift to 50 pounds of weight from the floor to above the shoulders
  • Weights more than 50 pounds may need to be lifted between the floor and shoulders on rare occasions
  • The physical ability to occasionally push various items, such as equipment, filters, motors, tools, pumps up to 75 pounds distances of up to 5’
  • The physical ability to occasionally pull various items, such as compressors, tools and equipment up to 75 pounds distances of up to 35’
  • The physical ability to work at heights
  • The physical ability to tolerate required personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, work gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, dust masks, safety belts and safety shoes on a continuous basis
  • The visual ability to identify small components at close range or other objects at a distance
  • The ability to listen closely to specific sounds to assist in determining potential malfunction
