Yesterday I gave my keynote address at QAA's annual conference at the University of Birmingham.
I covered a broad range, so some highlights:
- our achievements over almost 20 years;
- that our 4500 reviews in that time had demonstrated the world class quality of UK HE;
- We have published 3000 features of good practice and 5000 recommendations since 2008
- In reviews last year all UK Universities did well, but there was a broader range of outcomes for colleges and alternative providers
- how this evidence base has facilitated a move to much lighter touch assurance for our established universities;
- how QAA itself is being transformed;
- our suggestions for the forthcoming White Paper in England including the importance of co-regulation.
