Qualities of a Leader and Leadership

Leader:?

A clear statement of what it means to be a leader is taken from John C. Maxwell.

?“A leader is one who knows the way goes the way and shows the way.”?

– John C. Maxwell?

A leader is a person who has a clear vision, explores his vision. After experiencing his/her vision, he/she guides and helps others to find their vision. Good leaders help themselves and others do the right thing. They set the direction, and create something new that benefits themselves as well as others.?

Leadership:?

When a person helps others and assists them in achieving their goals or vision then the people consider that person as their true leader. A person can’t force someone to make him/her as their leader until they accept it.?

Famous American businessman and former professional basketball player Michael Jeffrey? Jordan quoted leadership as follows.?

“Earn your leadership every day. “?

–Michael Jordan?

Leadership is the ability to motivate a group of people to achieve common goals. A good leader can lift the stance of his/her people and unlock the extraordinary performance of people by their effective leadership.?

Leadership Qualities:?

Good leaders have a vision for the future and know how to turn their ideas into real success stories. Now let’s take a closer look at some of the important leadership qualities that distinguish good leaders from bad ones.?

Good communications allow others to understand your message, vision, ideas, and plans more accurately and quickly. A leader must be a good communicator. Words have the power to motivate people and a good leader can you use them to get better results.?

A leader can use eye contact, hand gestures, and observe sound effects when discussing with others. Satisfying the body in a? friendly way will help you to be closer to others.?

? Confidence:?

Always remember, it is the confidence that separates average leaders from great leaders. When people feel trusted and confident in you, they are willing to spend their time,? energy and loyalty so that you and the team can move forward.?

?When you have confidence, you can do anything.?

–Sloane Stevens?

2. Decision-Making Capabilities?

Decision-making in the workplace is very important for leaders. It is also important every day of your life. Some choices are, while others can be very hard. Wrong choices can lead to long-term failures. The Good leader must have the ability to make the right choices at the right time. Leadership decisions have a big impact on many.??

A leader must acknowledge that the consequences of many of your decisions are unpredictable. Therefore decisions will often affect other people. The leader has to think long and hard before making a decision and when a decision is made, the leader must support it.??

Think 100 times before you make a decision, but once that decision is taken, stand by it as one man.?

–Muhammad Ali Jinnah?

A good leader should also consult his ideas with his people to make effective and concrete decisions. This will also encourage them and they will stand with your decision.?

Here are some traits related to Decision Making that differentiates a good leader from a? bad leader.?

? Learns from mistakes:?

A good leader may make a mistake in a short period of time, but it doesn’t stop him/her after making the wrong choice. He/She learns from his mistakes and avoids the wrong choices in the future. Even he/she motivates others to never give up if someone makes mistakes.?

? Stay Calm:?

Good leaders stay calm with their choices and, after researching them, decide in a certain direction, they neither look back nor lose sleep and ask.?

3. Delegation and Empowerment?

Delegation and Empowerment are very handy for effective leadership. Both of these techniques are adopted by good leaders when workloads are assigned to them. A leader cannot do everything so he/she uses delegation and empowerment to his people.??

In Delegation, a person assigns one task or activity to another person, give them the responsibility but prevent them from authorizing. But in empowerment, the person gives both responsibility and authority but stays engaged for a supporting role.?

Delegation is an important factor in increasing the workforce and increasing job productivity for all team members. The leader focuses only on major goals and milestones while other sub-goals and sub-milestones are handled by the followers.?

Only secure leaders give power to others.?

-John C. Maxwell?

? Importance of delegation and empowerment for leaders:?

? Delegation helps people realize their worth, which evokes strong feelings of commitment and friendship.?

? A good leader chooses and assigns the task wisely that can be done better by a? subordinate and also gives high priority to urgent tasks.?

? When leaders delegate their tasks to others, they have the freedom to buy into the most important activities and use their time wisely. The break not only gives leaders time to think but also allows them to focus on other tasks they can handle. This increases the coordination and trust among the leader and his/her staff.?
