QSR business during pandemic

Amid the global pandemic of Corona-virus and ever changing business environment shaping the current world affects the global food industry as governments close down restaurants and bars, cafes & QSR'S to slow the spread of the virus across the world. while stay at home orders have forced many businesses to close or many have been given the opportunity to work from home however people working for different food establishments of food service businesses haven't got that liberty too, amid all time low sales and ever changing challenges on daily basis QSR industry have to run the business to feed the people and at the same time to pay the bills. Let's see how doing the business in these testing times have changed especially in GCC market- Now delivery aggregators have become most important stakeholder of QSR industry. With dine-in restaurants shuttered and social distancing paramount, drive-through are now providing a crucial source of revenue during the pandemic to QSR chains, another way food businesses are generating cash flow is by doing contact less Car-hop services. These pandemic has also made QSR business to rethink & re-calibrate their business strategy:-1.For the very first time Starbucks have started doing delivery in many GCC markets with partnership with delivery aggregators .2. In UAE more than 100 small and mid sized business have come together to launch their own order booking and delivery app to take on aggregators (sometimes which can make up to 35% of an order). 3.Going forward many F&B giants are looking to open drive through locations, stand alone street locations as the current pandemic has shown that malls aren't the revenue generators. 4.In USA many chains as Panera, Caribou , Chipotale ,Starbucks have all started some sort of curb-side pick-up at many of their locations, sooner or later it will become popular in this part of world too. 5.Cloud kitchens or dark kitchens are gaining prominence even some some of the big names in delivery businesses are going to soon have their own kitchen. (Deliveroo is already having their own brick & mortar stores). One thing is for sure gonna be happening that way of doing the food and beverage or QSR business is never going to be the same again.
