The QSAN XN8124D, scalable and high-performance storage

With the exponential growth in the amount of information to manage, high-end storage solutions are now a necessity for all SMBs and enterprise-class companies. The QSAN XN8124 4U rackmount system is a high-performance, scalable storage solution offering dual-active enterprise-level redundancy, support for major protocols, and a robust software ecosystem, all backed by a 5-year warranty.

The controller hardware is based on the Intel Xeon D-1712TR (Ice Lake) CPU, a quad-core 2GHz CPU. An efficient heat pipe system is adopted that manages to dissipate heat without the need for additional fans. On the controller's motherboard four slots are present for DDR4 ECC memory modules, up to 256 GBytes in total.

One Gigabit (RJ45), four 10 GbE (SFP+) and two 12 Gb SAS ports are available on the rear. In addition, two PCIe Gen 3x8 expansion slots are available to be used with for instance 32/16 Gb Fiber Channel or 25/10 GbE interfaces.

Power is provided by two rear swappable redundant 850W power supplies.

A total of 24 bays are available for storage. Both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives are supported. It is possible to use SAS drives and in the case of the single controller version of the XN8124 traditional SATA drives can be used as well. With for example HDDs of 24 TBytes each, the maximum capacity (without expansion units) of the QSAN XN8124(D) is 576 TByte.

Via QSAN expansion units connected to the two 12 Gb SAS ports on the rear of the XN8124 the total storage capacity can be upgraded. There are expansion rack-type models with 12, 16, 24 and 26 bays available that can be configured in various RAID scenarios.

QSAN's QSM data management system provides high scalability, easy management, and data integrity to build a perfect unified storage system. QSM continuously evolves the security level to protect data across storage and adhere to industry best practices. Supporting SED (Self-Encrypting Drives) coupled with WORM will keep your sensitive data safe even if the drives are lost, stolen, or misplaced. Additionally, Windows ACL (Access Control List) and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) helps to prevent unauthorized access to your data
