The QS World University Rankings for 2023 are out. And it is a delight to see three Indian Universities made it in the Top 200 and seven in Top 500.
QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds. It comprises three parts: global overall ranking, the subject rankings, and five independent regional tables—namely Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe and Central Asia, the Arab Region, and BRICS.
Quoting the Wiki, "QS designed its rankings to assess performance according to what it believes to be key aspects of a university's mission: teaching, research, nurturing employability, and internationalisation."
The rankings are based on six parameters:
Academic Peer Review looks for the teaching and research quality while Employer Reputation assesses how well the institute prepares its students for successful careers, and which of them provide the most competent graduates.
Citations per faculty determines the institute's research quality while the Faculty / student ratio demonstrates how the institute provides its students meaningful access to faculty.
International student and International staff ratio indicate the ability of the institute to attract students and staff from other geographies. The higher the number the better the global outlook.
It is a good starting for students to discover a university that fits their requirement by browsing the QS World University Rankings. Just filter by region, category and compare the reputation of the universities under different parameters.
So, go ahead and discover your choices today!
