The QR Code Strikes Back

QR codes have been around a long time. For a while they seemed to almost disappear but in recent years they have been making a serious comeback. All they really are is a website link shortcut on your smart phone but their popularity is now soaring.

Now some smart marketers are working with CreditMiner replacing the "Scan Me" with "Get Preapproved" sending the prospect instantly to a sign up form for a soft pull preapproval. This can be done with virtually any type marketing that allows QR codes.

What makes CreditMiner so powerful is what happens after engagement. An email is sent to the prospect telling them how much "up to" and at what APR "as low as" they are actually preapproved for. What a concept! Actually using a soft pull to communicate with a prospect giving them valuable information. Of course the fact that the FTC now requires this is secondary, right?

CreditMiner Get Preapproved or Get Prequalified offers have a very high call to action engagement early in the sales process. They provide the dealership with the current FICO score and other valuable credit information including current auto loan details that help determine trade in equity.

You can sign up directly with CreditMiner to use this on any of your advertising. Just contact me, [email protected], if you are interested. Of course all marketing vendors are welcome to partner as well.

On another front we continue to see more "solutions" for fraud prevention crawl out of the woodwork but their effectiveness remains highly questionable. Unless you have a data base that independent organizations like Javelin and Forrester have highly rated (like TransUnion, the one we use) , use facial biometrics, access smart phone device reputation, and make the process interactive with the prospect then you are still at serious risk. Data base solutions alone are better than nothing but they will not prevent really good synthetic fraudsters from driving off and never paying a dime.

These solutions need to be interactive in your Digital Retailing process, much like what Dealer eProcess is working on with us.

We went to the theme parks yesterday knowing full well we would probably melt. We did. It was interesting seeing what the surface of the planet Mercury feels like. I cannot even imagine how the poor performers in costumes survived. Ice cream never tasted so good. The fireworks were spectacular and in spite of the heat everyone was in great patriotic spirits.

My Braves finally lost to the Guarindians last night. They still put up up one heck of a fight. They are just never out of a game. I just hope they can keep this up but they are loaded this year, just need this going on in September and October.

Stay cool out there folks! Until next time.
