QLD - Industry Workforce Advisers Visit Ingham.
Mark Jones (FAIPF) (MAITD) - "The Mentors Mentor"
Business Growth Expert @ Upcoach | Award winning facilitator, business coach and mentor.
It was a real privilege to have two of QLD's eleven Industry facing workforce advisers (IWA's) visit the Hinchinbrook Region today.
Kim Wessling representing the AGRI - business sector and the QLD Farmers Federation, and Darryl Ladbrook representing the Electrotechnology sector and Energy Skills QLD travelled up from Brisbane to provide local business owners and entrepreneurs with specific information relating to workforce planning grants and opportunities for local businesses to engage with specialists from the Industry Adviser network.
The meeting was coordinated by myself and hosted by Marg Oxley the CEO of Happy Days Training in her new training venue within the TYTO Precinct.
The purpose of this event was to enable stakeholders from the regions vibrant small business sector to hear and understand what grants and support they can access to grow the capacity and capability of their work teams through targeted workforce planning strategies.
Much of the discussion centred on how through the QLD Government's Workforce Planning Connect initiative the regions businesses are able to access targeted human resources guidance, workforce planning support, and strategies to enable improvement in the attraction, skilling, development and retention of existing workers and job seekers.

Local businesses from the retail, training, tourism and non-profit sectors engaged in both general and business / industry specific discussions, with a key take-away being increased awareness of both current and pending opportunities to access funding and expert guidance in building the future capability, strategic focus, resilience, and sustainability of their businesses.
It was truly motivating to hear of the passion for the region, the vision and aspirational goals shared by our small business attendees. We look forward to working with Kym and Darryl, and welcome their IWA peers from other industry sectors to visit the region again soon.
