Qigong at Botanic Garden
Visited Singapore Botanic Garden with my wife on Mother’s Day. After the morning heavy rain, the air was super fresh and fragrant, grass and trees were greener to welcome the visitors.
Not many visitors as it was still drizzling on and off. To my surprise, I saw a Qigong practitioner sitting in the middle of the grass patch, closed his eyes and deep into his own world. This is the first time I saw this in the Garden.
Botanic garden was granted UNESCO world heritage status six years ago for its role in the rubber trade industry and beautiful tropical garden landscape.
We have to remember and thank Mr. Henry Ridley, known as the father of the rubber industry. He cultivated the rubber tree locally imported from Brazil in Botanic Garden and found a way to tap its sap without harming the tree. This started the rubber plantation and trade industry for SEA and contributed to the prosperity of the region greatly. Ridley Road and Ridley Garden near Orchard road were named after him.
I wish the Qigong practitioner able to gather nature essence from the Garden to strengthen his Qi.
Horology and aviation enthusiast.
