This week, we’ll give you a recap of QConnect, an event that brought together students and HR professionals for a vibrant exchange of ideas. ??

There was a time when organizations were reluctant to share their recruitment information openly. HR professionals would typically only get in touch with candidates to arrange interviews for those who made it to the shortlist. The idea of reaching out to hiring managers for any other reason was simply unthinkable.

Times have changed, and for the very first time QConnect brought together young professionals side-by-side with HR gurus. It was a platform for open dialogue, networking, and knowledge-sharing among HR experts, intellectuals, thought leaders, and aspiring professionals. ??

The session was moderated by Qureos’s co-founder Usama Nini. The panelists included Asma Yusuf, Chief People Officer from KFC, Aamina Siddiqi, Director People from Bazaar, and Umer Farooqi, Head HRBP from Foodpanda.

We asked Asma, at KFC, how her leadership defines inclusivity and diversity at the workplace considering that KFC branches are spread out across the country. Asma emphasizes the importance of “a workplace having a mix of people in which you can truly be yourself”.?

She further highlights instances where KFC has been able to change mindsets by employing people irrespective of their caste, color, gender, and geographical locations.

It is no secret that the process of gamification as an assessment tool for trainee recruitment is tedious to say the least. It is also true that the number of interview stages and rounds have significantly increased over the years.?

While hiring managers acknowledge and validate the struggles of young professionals, they also narrate how difficult it is to maintain a fair recruitment when 5k+ students are applying. When Umer Farooqi was asked about his views on assessments during recruitment, he responded by saying:
