According to FIFA sources, 2.45 million tickets have been sold for the Qatar World Cup as of mid-August this year, with a winning rate of just 5%. Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman in the Middle East will be the best tourist destinations for world fans to watch the tournament.

The Dubai Sports Council estimates that around one million World Cup fans are likely to arrive in Dubai and the emirate is setting up football fan zones in parks, beaches and financial centres, while hotels are offering special packages.

?Expat Sport, which is licensed by FIFA to sell World Cup packages, noted that "bookings from Mexican, British, European and Indian fans have surged and at this rate, hotel rooms in Dubai will be fully booked."

Sellers of outdoor products on Amazon's Middle East site said sales of barbecue grills, tents and other camping products have skyrocketed in recent months.
