Qatar big LNG ship order goes to Chinese shipbuilder worth 20b RMB
On April 22, by internet linking with Beijing, Shanghai, and Doha, Qatar. China shipbuilding CSSC Chairman Lei Fanpei, and Qatar ’s Minister of Energy Affairs and Qatar Petroleum company's president Saad Sherida Alkabi, on behalf of the two parties, signed LNG ship building agreement with a total amount of more than 20 billion yuan. The order will go to CSSC subsidiary Shanhai-based Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. and this order is said the largest export contract for Chinese shipbuilding to date.
For a long time, Qatar's over 60 LNG shipbuilding plan has been attracting the top yards from Korea, Japan and China to compete.
In order to stand out, Hudong Zhonghua launched its latest design of the "G4 + Changhui" series of 174,000 cubic meters of LNG ships, which is based on the fourth-generation LNG ship, featuring the latest design concepts and technical trends of current LNG ships in the world.
