??? A new biohybrid computer combining a “brain organoid” with AI has performed a speech recognition task with 78% accuracy.

??? Boosting computers by combining them with a 3D clump of lab-grown human brain cells (a brain organoid) has shown this to be possible.

??? After growing a brain organoid from stem cells, researchers placed the tissue on a plate covered in thousands of electrodes. They then used traditional computing hardware to deliver electrical pulses to the organoid and record its responding #neural #activity.

??? They converted 240 recordings of 8 Japanese speakers saying vowel sounds into electrical pulses. Then they trained an #AI to predict which person was speaking, based on the neural activity of the brain organoid in response to the electrical stimulation.

??? After 2 days, it could predict the who was speaking with 78% accuracy.

This offers precise user ID, allowing only legitimate users to enter the Metaverse.
