Q&A with Svenya Mueller, Sr. Program Manager for Central Ops & Programs

Hello all ?? It’s our busiest time of year and our time to shine! Meet Svenya Mueller Eyal , Sr. Program Manager for our Central Ops and Programs (COPS) team, who as an Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2022 participant and Amazonian accomplishes the impossible.

Svenya, can tell us more about yourself and your Amazon journey?

I joined 亚马逊 in June 2021 as part of the Transportation Operations Management (TOM) programs team, leading the Offsite Yard program. Since then, I moved from TOM programs to COPs, and the Offsite Yard program grew from a team of one to a team of five, including two interns which is really exciting.

How did your past experience help prepare you for working at Amazon?

In my previous role at BCG, we worked a lot on short deadlines turning around things pretty last minute always with the customer at heart. This set me up quite well for the fast-paced environment at Amazon!

What excites you MOST about your role and team at ATS?

Working collaboratively with people, having a real impact and true ownership for my own program.

What is your favourite ATS memory?

Quite a few actually! The ATS summer party in July 2022, the TOM engagement activities during Peak 2021, site visits to LCY8 and LTN2 - anything people related and normally in person rather than virtually ??

What is your favourite place in the world?

Anywhere, as long as I can run and explore it on my two feet.

Svenya, can you finish the sentence for us? "When I'm not at work, you can find me..."

... swimming, cycling and running - either any of those individually or quite often one after the other ??

On the subject of swimming, cycling and running, tell us more about the Ironman 70.3 World Championship?

An Ironman 70.3 is also known as a Half Ironman. The "70.3" refers to the total distance in miles (113.0?km) covered in the race, consisting of a 1.2-mile (1.9?km) swim, a 56-mile (90?km) bike ride, and a 13.1-mile (21.1?km) run. Each distance of the swim, bike, and run segments is half the distance of that segment in an Ironman Triathlon. The Ironman 70.3 series culminates each year with a World Championship competition, for which competitors qualify during the 12 months prior to the championship race.

The Ironman 70.3 Championship is in a different location each year (unlike the Ironman Championship which always takes place in Hawaii).?This year, the championship took place in Utah. Crossing that finish line is an absolutely rewarding moment and felt very special this time after such a brutal course, plus it was the fourth Half Ironman I had done in four months. I was definitely ready for some off season rest afterwards! But I am hungry for next year and qualifying for the World Championship in Finland as I didn’t leave everything on the course in Utah and want to see how much further I can push myself.

What has participating in Half Ironman races taught you?

What I keep learning is that no goal is too far for us as long as we are strongly determined to reach it and work hard to get there with patience and determination. One year ago, I planned my goals for 2022 and didn’t think it would be possible to qualify for the World Championship and when I was lining up at the start line I recalled that memory and was truly amazed how far we can come in life.
