Q&A with Nitin Purswani, SDE for Amazon Freight
Everyone, meet Nitin ?? Nitin has been with Amazon for almost a decade and loves to experiment! Nitin first joined Amazon India in 2012 as a Quality Assurance Engineer and has had multiple roles across Amazon teams.
Nitin, tell us more about your Amazon journey!
I enjoy the culture of building so I joined Amazon Devices as Software Development in Test and then transitioned to Software Development Engineer. My team owned building the platform for unique purchase experiences for Amazon devices on Amazon.com. In the middle of 2020, I joined Amazon Freight, a fast-paced development environment. I've been working on unique challenges to enable smooth integration experiences for shippers.
What excites you MOST about your role and team at ATS?
I see lot of automation opportunity within the freight industry and most satisfying aspect is that I am make impact at industry level when working in Amazon Freight. In my team, I get to build the solutions from scratch to help customers overcome manual disruptions.

In your opinion, what is the most rewarding or challenging aspect of working in a diverse environment?
Most rewarding aspect of working in diverse environment is to learn about different cultures and perspectives. Listening to different views not just help us build strong solutions but improve your individual productivity by adapting to new ways.
Nitin, can you finish the sentence for us? "When I'm not at work, you can find me..."
When I am not working, you can find me binge watching movies or series OR on vacation with my wife and kids. My recent add on to my free time is reading books. It helps relaxing my mind when I am not working.
What is your favorite place in the world?
It would be very difficult to have one favorite place given there are so many beautiful places in the world but I like places with clean beaches. One of my favorite beach destination is Hawaii. I recently had my first snorkeling experience in Hawaii and it was mesmerizing experience to see aquatic life in deep ocean water.
