Talking Rain Beverage Co?, makers of Sparkling Ice
Creating connections with every sip!
With over thirty years of experience in the beverage industry, Missy Wyatt, Sr. Vice President, National Sales, has built a successful career for herself, working in various roles across sales and marketing.
We recently caught up with Missy to discuss how her unique career journey has influenced her success. According to Missy, her experience in sales and marketing may have given her an edge, but success is still in the eye of the beholder.
Q: You were recently promoted to Senior Vice President, National Sales, but you entered the beverage world with a marketing background. ?How has your unique career journey influenced your current role?
A: I began my career in the beverage industry after taking a temporary, three-day assignment with a cola giant. Three months later, I received a phone call about an open role in marketing from the HR Manager who remembered me—this is a reminder that first impressions matter! I spent nearly twenty years with this company, working in all types of marketing and foodservice roles. I also spent some time on the retailer side of the desk, and this education and experience was invaluable. Almost nine years ago, I accepted a role with Talking Rain in shopper marketing and since then, I’ve held various roles in both marketing and sales. My marketing background has given me the ability to look at business from multiple perspectives. This has been critical to my success in sales.

Q: What projects or initiatives are you most excited for in 2023?
A: I am excited about 2023 in general! From a business development perspective, I’m excited about the development of our Away from Home channels, specifically convenience, food service, and vending. Our sales team has tremendous opportunities within these channels. They are critical to the growth of our business. One of our goals is for consumers to be able to enjoy Sparkling Ice everywhere they stop along their path to purchase.
Q: How do you define success?
A: Success is defined and measured in many ways, in all areas of our lives, both personally and professionally.?Success for me is defined by integrity. Now, I’m not talking about moral uprightness or doing the right thing, although those both could be the result or outcome of having integrity.?To me, integrity is being true to myself. This means that my words and actions are aligned, and I do what I say I will do.?Don’t be fooled, there are times when I miss this mark. Sometimes we let life get in the way, but I can always be accountable for my words and actions.
