QA Matron, Bev Vaughan, wins award
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust
Working together to drive excellence in care for our patients and communities
We’re extremely proud of QA Matron Bev Vaughan, who recently won Hospital Nurse of the Year in The News’ Best of Health Awards earlier this month.
Bev recently retired after working for the NHS for 36 years, starting her career at St. Mary’s Hospital where she was the youngest Sister.
After a year in Australia, Bev returned to England and spent two years working in London. She was based at the British Geriatric Society, where she supported the establishment of the National Hip Fracture Database.
Bev later returned to Portsmouth, where she worked as a Matron in MORPS at QA Hospital – a role which she described as “both challenging and rewarding.”
A total of 12 awards were handed out to doctors, nurses, pharmacies, nursing homes, hospital teams, GP and dental practices in the region at The News Best of Health Awards on November 4th – including several from Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.
