What is your favorite Amazon memory?
My favorite Amazon memories come from customer interactions. I enjoy talking to Selling Partners, from business leaders of large enterprises to entrepreneurs who wear multiple hats in small start-ups. They have great passion for selling on Amazon and incredible ideas about how to grow their business. I was deeply touched when a German Selling Partner told me “I aim to be as customer-obsessed as Amazon and always go above and beyond to provide the best service to my customers; they are the most important after my wife and daughter”. I was inspired when Chinese Selling Partners showed me reports they built to track global supply chain prices and reliability to inform supply chain planning. These insights kept me motivated to build the best-in-class experiences for our Selling Partners.
What is your favorite leadership principle and why?
My favorite leadership principle is Are Right, A lot. I enjoy solving ambiguous problems to which there is not a clear right or wrong answer. This leadership principle reminds me to navigate through ambiguity, focus on what truly matters for the customers, and seek diverse perspectives from others.

What is something you have done that you would consider innovative or pioneering at Amazon so far?
I was fortunate to lead the Customer Service by Amazon (CSBA) vision and initial launch in US and EU back from 2019 to 2021; this experience allowed Selling Partners to leverage Amazon’s Customer Service network to serve buying customers and significantly improved customer satisfaction in the merchant fulfillment network. With Amazon Global Logistics, we introduced “Pay What You Book” in 2023, which helped shippers achieve quote-to-invoice consistency and addressed a longstanding customer pain point in the industry. Moving forward, we are continuing to look for ideas everywhere and deliver innovative products and experiences for our customers.

How do you foster diversity and inclusion on your team?
We are a global team and work with stakeholders and customers across the world. We facilitate flexible work schedules to accommodate different time zones, ensure that everyone’s voice is heard, and collectively build a collaborative culture. We learn about diverse cultures and traditions through a wide variety of DEI events and affinity groups. We also share moon cakes for the Mid-Autumn festival and bond over delicious food and beautiful decorations for Diwali.

What do you do for fun/ work-life balance?
I enjoy spending time with my dog Charlie. On good days, I like to bring my source of joy to work and share some fluffiness with people around me.
Best place you have ever traveled?
While it is difficult to pick one favorite travel destination, I would recommend visiting Tibet. People are super friendly (a herdsman family invited me to their house for Yak milk tea and steamed buns the first time we met), Tibetan mastiffs are everywhere, and the glaciers are incredibly beautiful.
