Q&A with Frank Uithoven, Director of Sales at Truckker

Frank Uithoven is the new Director of Sales at Truckker and we recently sat down to discuss some industry insights with him. Frank has an extensive background in recruitment and specializes in the areas of logistics, industrial work, construction and waste/recycling management. What is the top trend you think we will see in the trucking industry in 2024?"Automation and AI will play increasingly significant role in the trucking industry in 2024 and beyond. We are already seeing roles at Truckker that are for drivers to essentially train vehicles to become autonomous on the road.?I by no means think that the roles we currently hire for at Truckker?will be replaced by AI anytime soon, but it is a trend here that we are starting to notice more often."

What are some of the key challenges you face in sales within the recruitment industry? "There is a lot of competition in the recruitment industry here in Canada, which for some can be a challenge. There are a lot of agencies out there that are not following compliance regulations and cutting corners. When agencies are paying cash or not following regulations, it can give the industry as a whole a bad name, with both clients and candidates."
