Q&A with ADVANT

Q&A with ADVANT

We're pleased to introduce another top-tier partner of the upcoming Summit 2023: ADVANT , a European association of law firms and a long-time supporter of our professional community. We asked Dr. Andreas Lober to comment on ADVANT's structure, and its relationship with the games industry:

What is your association's core expertise in regard to video games?

We are full service for games in Germany, Italy, and France – your European advantage.

Which firms make the association?

???? ADVANT Beiten in Germany;

???? ADVANT Nctm in Italy; and

???? ADVANT Altana in France.

What additional synergies does the association offer?

Apart from our experience and knowledge especially in the games industry, the three firms within the alliance are highly involved in the media, entertainment and digital tech sectors – which raises similar issues and offers a kind of a benchmark of different?practices and legal issues that can exist in these very similar, or at least closely linked, sectors.?

It's also worth mentioning that most of us are both advisors and litigators, and that we work on a day-to-day basis with our colleagues from different law practices, offering a?360° approach to our clients – rather than a compartmentalised one.

Most transactions and partnerships in the industry are cross-border. In your work, what sport of international cooperation comes up the most?

We are European lawyers, serving many of the top international companies (including those based in US, Japan, and China).

We are also involved in many cross-border IP litigation cases.

What are the key locations for your firm’s interactive entertainment expertise?

Frankfurt + Rome + Paris.

And who would be the best contact for the games industry matters, in these offices?

???? Dr. Andreas Lober , ???? Lorenzo Attolico and ???? Jean-Guy de Ruffray .
