Q&A with Aduro's HR Team
In honor of HR Appreciation Day, we're excited to spotlight two HR professionals — Ginny Hoffman & KayCee Perron ! As part of the People Experience team, they're finding solutions and building programs that help make Aduro a great place to work. Read on to learn more about Kaycee and Ginny, from their perspective on workplace well-being to how they connect their values to our mission.
Q: As HR professionals, besides health benefits and 401(k)s, what benefits do you believe are the most important for an organization to invest in for their employees?
Ginny: Benefits programs should?cover?more than the physical and financial aspects of healthy living. Mental health is a big component of this.?At Aduro, we offer benefits internally through our Aduro? Connect Platform, which includes?Mental Health Coaching and interactive content?to help support our employees, whom we refer to as Firestarters.
When we look at outside programs, we want to ensure our health plan includes rich mental health?benefits?like?virtual therapy visits, app-based tools for behavioral health, and?low-to-no copays for?outpatient office visits.
KayCee: I believe some of the greatest benefits are those built to improve the whole person beyond the workplace. One of the main things we focus on as an Aduro People Team is ensuring our total rewards program supports every aspect of life: Mindset & Resilience, Purpose & Contribution, Lifestyle & Health, Relationships & Community, Development & Growth, and Money & Prosperity. We lean heavily on tools that Aduro is known for, Aduro? Connect. We also take a great deal of time evaluating the needs of our Firestarters and ensuring that at every renewal, we continue to build a comprehensive benefits program that serves the unique needs and wants of our diverse workforce.
A 401k program is table stakes for most company benefit offerings. Generous matching, profit sharing, advisement, financial workshops, learning paths, student loan repayment, and personalized coaching are added benefits that engage someone in their entire financial future. The additional resources are built around equipping and supporting our Firestarters for the time they are with the organization and beyond.
The most important benefits to invest in are the ones your employees need to flourish beyond the workplace, not just while employed at your company.
Q: How do you see the future of the workplace shaping? And how do you see yourself being a part of that change in your role?
Ginny:?I believe employers will continue to look for benefits offerings beyond what is considered traditional, such as a concentration on employee well-being. As remote work has become part of the norm, I also see employers adopting more of a flexible work arrangement around scheduling. My focus will continue improving employee wellness and ensuring we provide the tools to help support a healthy workforce.
KayCee: More than ever, organizations are being asked to rise and adapt to the needs of an ever-changing and evolving world. Employers and workplaces need to be more dynamic, engaged, connected, and supportive. For me, this means advocating for and implementing people experience solutions that support the needs of the Aduro workforce. It also means ensuring I have the proper tools, skills, and knowledge to lead during such a pivotal time. I believe that learning never stops. My part in an ever-changing workplace landscape is to stretch into the new space and ensure my eyes and heart are always on supporting and serving the incredible Firestarters within our organization.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about your job?
Ginny: There is a lot of variety in my day, and it's almost all around providing support to our Firestarters. I love having the ability to make someone’s day better by helping solve a problem, acting as a resource, or simply listening.
KayCee: There is never a dull moment. My role is so dynamic and requires me to be connected to every part of the business —from strategic thinking and operational planning to workforce design and individual support.
Q: Which key Aduro value do you resonate with the most?
Ginny: Delight Others – every interaction is an opportunity to improve someone’s day. Going above and beyond expectations is a personal value that aligns with delighting others.
KayCee: After 10.5 years at Aduro, the core value that always sticks with me is It’s Bigger Than Us. There are so many of these components of this value that I try to emulate and perform daily. “Be humble, respectful, responsible, resilient, and kind.” I am entrusted with some peoples’ most sensitive information during really trying times. I always want to create a space where everyone feels comfortable and safe bringing their whole selves into a conversation with me.
Ginny: Get Moving – I keep active in my life, but it is easy to forget to move during the workday, especially while working from home. This path inspired me to do small things to keep myself from sitting for long periods of time.
KayCee: My favorite Path on Aduro? Connect is actually a mini path, Leading Courageously. This short 15-minute mini path packs a real punch and hits on some heavy topics, such as being in control, mindfulness, communication skills, and compassion. The content spurred deep inner thinking, and that thinking led me to take action and become a stronger leader, both personally and professionally.?
