1.?? Can you introduce yourself?
I'm an outgoing guy who enjoys quality time with friends and family. I’m originally from Ciney, a small city near Namur, but I left at 18 to explore the (rest of the) world. After studying in Louvain-la-Neuve, I eventually settled down in Brussels.
2.?? What's your background, and how does it influence your work at UYG?
My background is a mix of encounters, studies, and numerous projects. The experiences and lessons gathered along the way from the incredible people I've met have opened my mind. This diversity of experience fuels my motivation for a better future, shaping my day-to-day work at UYG.
3.?? What inspired you to join UYG?
Initially, it was the allure of managing a big event from start to finish. But delving deeper into UYG's mission, vision, and values really convinced me. Being an event manager for an association with such a meaningful mission was an unexpected and incredibly fulfilling opportunity.
4.?? What is your favourite task??
As an Event Manager, each day is different, and that's exactly what I love about my job. It keeps things dynamic and exciting.
5.?? What are you most proud of since joining the team?
The progression through events is something we can be really proud of. Each regional event is a learning experience, raising the bar for the next ones. The national edition in Molenbeek was a significant challenge, and successfully overcoming it makes me exceptionally proud.

6.?? Can you tell us what the team is like?
Awful! Just kidding - obviously ??
Ciara and Adil (our communication team) won’t publish the article if I say otherwise… ??
To be honest, I really feel we have an incredible team. In my -not so- humble opinion, I believe our dedication and motivation contribute to achieving great results with a relatively "small team." The diversity in our backgrounds allows us to learn from each other and adds strength to our collective efforts. Another good example of the strength of diversity.
7.?? What’s it like, working at the UYG??
It’s both challenging and rewarding. Working for an NGO means dealing with limited resources, but the dedication to a meaningful cause makes each challenge worthwhile. Our biggest reward is witnessing the joy the children experience during our events and participating in inclusive initiatives.
8.?? What are your interests outside of work?
I'm a musician, so playing the piano and saxophone is my greatest passion. Listening to music also helps me disconnect and meet new people. While I may not be the greatest athlete, I do enjoy a game of Spikeball or tennis with friends from time to time.
9.?? How would you define inclusion??
I like to think of inclusion as "the indifference of differences.” I believe it's an opportunity to evolve in every aspect of life with an open mind and embrace the diversity we encounter. Diversity, to me, is a real strength that shouldn't be overlooked.?Indifference?doesn’t mean that there are?no differences. It just means that it shouldn’t be a barrier or an obstacle.
10. Who inspires you most?
That's a tough question. My team, for sure! ?? Generally, I'm inspired by those who teach me something. Learning from people's experiences is something I cherish. My closest relatives are the ones who inspire me the most.
