Q4 2023: Celebrating our Collective Achievements

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope 2024 is off to a great start for each of you, and that you’re in good spirits as we embark on another exciting year.?

Sharing these quarterly updates with you over the last 12 months has been a rewarding, reflective, and fun experience for me. It has given me the chance to make space for our accomplishments while also celebrating the many friends, clients, and partners that have supported us in our success.?

In this update, I’ll be sharing some of the wins from last year, as well as what we did to close off 2023 and prepare for what looks like another exciting year ahead.?

I’ll start off by saying that 2023 was a year filled with progress and growth for the DGPR team. We doubled our revenue and headcount, which is truly testament to our team's dedication and hard work. We were increasingly strategic in the work we did, forged stronger relationships with new and existing clients, and delivered fantastic campaigns that put our clients in the spotlight.?

While it’s been wonderful to see the agency grow in maturity and reach new milestones, I am particularly proud of how we have each evolved as individuals as well. I can confidently say that every team member has experienced individual successes, and that all contributes to how we operate as a collective.?

When it comes to this past quarter, it was filled with celebration. We marked the second anniversary of DGPR in Vancouver with a memorable gathering at Black & Blue. Surrounded by approximately 70 friends of the agency, including clients, journalists, industry influencers, and our partners, it was a moment to express our gratitude for the love and support that has fueled our journey over the last couple of years.?

Our festivities continued with the DGPR holiday party, where our Vancouver and Toronto teams enjoyed facials, cocktails, and a fun dinner at a new restaurant in Mount Pleasant, where we recently opened our new HQ location. This was an opportunity to share stories, bond, and set our sights on a successful 2024 and beyond.

Q4 also included exciting client announcements, such as the Spring acquisition of Future Capital, which was founded by long-time agency friend Marlon Thompson. The story landed on the front page of The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business, and also achieved expansive coverage across North America. It was a really successful announcement that also demonstrates the importance of good businesses doing good. Spring is a company dedicated to positively changing the future, and we’re proud to support them and many other of our clients that are doing the same.?

On a personal note, I took time at the end of the year to travel with my partner and spend some much needed time with friends and family back in the UK. While I don’t often travel during the holidays (nor do I usually recommend it), this trip was equal parts energising and grounding. It was the perfect way to set myself up for a new year.

As we progress through January, I am delighted to report that the DGPR team has hit the ground running. The month has already been filled with exciting announcements, new clients, and the unveiling of a new office — stay tuned for more information on each of these in our upcoming Q1 update!

Before I sign off, I’d like to say thank you for joining us on this journey so far. We owe so much to our community, and we have so much fun working, partnering, and engaging with you all. Here's to a year filled with continued success, meaningful connections, and exciting adventures.
