Q3: On the bridge between analyst insights and practical application

The three months since my annual report have been intense and rewarding at Elisa International Digital Services. I'd thought I'd create a quarterly update on what's happened in August, September and October. Since joining the Elisa Polystar #UserMeeting2024 in October, I've been deeply immersed in sharing how telecom operators and manufacturers are advancing their automation journeys.
The User Meeting in particular highlighted some fascinating developments. Telia's evolution from state operator to multinational leader, Bouygues Telecom's innovative KPI unification, and 4iG's pragmatic approach to NOC automation all showcase how European telcos are making automation practical rather than theoretical. Similarly, DU's flawless service delivery during COP28 demonstrated what's possible when you combine smart analytics with operational excellence. Common to all of this how data value develops clear use cases to make a case for investment in automated assurance.
On the manufacturing side, I've been exploring how companies like theion are using AI to revolutionize battery production, while working with colleagues at camLine and sedApta to help manufacturers navigate their automation journeys (for example, in the pharma industry). The convergence between telecom and industrial automation is creating fascinating opportunities.
The analyst relations community continues to evolve rapidly. My recent analysis of Gartner inquiry costs sparked important discussions about value for money in analyst services. Meanwhile, the widening gap between how large and small tech firms engage with analysts raises important questions about market information asymmetry and market forecasting.

Looking ahead to 2025, I'm particularly excited about three areas: the acceleration of 5G Standalone deployments, the practical implementation of AI in network operations, and the growing intersection between telecom and manufacturing automation. These themes will likely dominate my posts in the coming months.
For those interested in diving deeper into any of these topics, I'm always happy to connect.
