Q2 - That's a wrap
Wow – is Q2 really over? This year is whizzing by at break-neck-speed, and what a successful quarter the whole Group has had. Buckle your seatbelt, because you’re in for a ride…
May was THE month of Bank Holidays. We’ve lost count on how many, but it was a lot, and we enjoyed them all (in and amongst delivering some great work for our clients)!
We definitely made the most of the King’s Coronation Bank Holiday weekend. Tea parties with homemade cakes and scones. Whilst some of us soaked up the atmosphere in London, watching the Red Arrows soar. And SGA’s Emma Topping ?spotted The Prince and Princess of Wales and even featured on the big screen herself at The Big Lunch! We’ll add that to the ‘claim to fame’ archive!
And talking about iconic duos, ‘Aardman presents: A Grand Experience’ with Wallace & Gromit and friends is now open for another season at Land’s End Visitor Centre. Testament to a long-standing partnership and relationship between our very own? Two Tails Productions ,?Heritage Great Britain PLC?and? Aardman .
And whilst we’re on the subject of partnerships, we had the pleasure of announcing the onboarding of a new client, with a worldwide presence, in mid-May. We’re thrilled to have been selected by leading independent real estate consultancy,?Knight Frank?to work with them on a major global internal communications initiative. This sees us shaping a high-impact campaign and delivering a toolkit that can be used across every territory that they operate in.
Then it was a case of all the 6’s in June, when we attended Communicate magazine’s prestigious Internal Communications and Engagement Awards Evening on the 6th of the 6th (June) and where we proudly won 6 awards in the 6 categories we were shortlisted for (and yes, we’re still pinching ourselves with these incredible results!):
Unilever: Business Integrity Pledge – Best internal communications campaign across multiple markets – GOLD
Unilever: Integrity Matters – Best use of storytelling – GOLD
Unilever: Integrity Matters – Best use of video and animation – SILVER
Unilever: Integrity Matters – Best innovation – SILVER

Such a huge achievement for our clients and for the MGA team and their power of creativity!
Our experience of working within the internal communications sector has taught us that creativity is key to impactful communications. So much so that Head of Client Services, Olivier Sottile , wrote an article for Communicate magazine as a plea for more creativity in internal communications:
"In today’s busy world of internal communications, cutting through the noise is becoming essential. This is even more important as employees (like the wider public) are becoming more communication savvy, and therefore more likely to engage with and act on campaigns and materials that communicate to them in a smart and creative way."
But in order to achieve this, we all need to be heading towards the same goal. Whether you’ve been in the industry for 20+ years, or are just starting out, great creative ideas can really come from anyone, anywhere, and we feel we have a role to play in nurturing the next generation of industry talent.
Audrey Chan , our Junior Designer, has recently celebrated her one year work anniversary with us after graduating from 英国伦敦大学学院 and Zachary Shapiro has just finished a 3-month work experience placement and will be starting a new role in the coming weeks.
By now you must be asking yourself where the pizza and beer pictures are. Well, it’s been a busy Q2 and we think Damien Millns is still recovering from his hot, sticky stint at the 54th Edition of the Paris Airshow.
Not to mention we’re busy working on a couple of new projects for 马莎百货 and Urenco Global . And Two Tails Productions are thrilled to be collaborating once again with ZSL Whipsnade Zoo , this time on their 2023 summer activity. After last year's success, SGA have been busy creating an amazing, immersive event that supports Whipsnade's partnership with The Beano, the evergreen children’s comic which is celebrating its 85th birthday in 2023. Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Mix and the Beano crew will be at Whipsnade Zoo from 22nd July to 4th September.
In the meantime, we promise more agency face-to-face activity in Q3, especially as we hope to have another awards ceremony to attend and a certain event company is turning 21… So watch this space!
