Q2 Highlights: Fueling Growth
APIwiz is thrilled to blaze through another fantastic quarter. This second quarter of 2023 brings with it more exciting news, new opportunities, and avenues of growth which have been driven by and have enabled 4 critical areas of impact:
Customer Traction and Conversations
At the outset, APIwiz has experienced an extremely positive quarter regarding customer traction, conversations, and feedback. With focused interactions held across the regions of APAC, the Middle East, and Africa, prospects and customers have shared and actively expressed an ongoing interest in adopting a platform-based approach to API lifecycle management. There is certainly a regional dissimilitude in the maturity of API programs. While North America and Europe are positioned higher in the maturity index on average, APAC, Middle East, and Africa are rapidly catching pace and even exceeding more in certain areas. To learn more about API program maturity models, see following post by Darshan Shivashankar .
87% of APIwiz’ conversations over Q2 have highlighted and reaffirmed the current state of API programs in that customers are primarily focused on bringing organization to their existing APIs, looking for better insights and visibility into their APIs, evaluating tools to enhance their API observability, last but not least researching ways to improve the overall security and governance of their API lifecycles by embracing the latest trends in low-code and automation. Having said that, the Portfolio Management, Gateway Connectors, and API Compliance Dashboards on APIwiz have been of significant interest and served as conversation starters in several key accounts.
The ongoing conversations also serve as vital mediums for feedback that shapes the overall customer experience and user journey across the APIwiz platform.
There has been a notable rise in the number of inquiries about API gateway migration, more specifically that between Apigee and Kong. The Kong studio migration wizard available on APIwiz is perfectly suited to catalyze these types of conversations.
All of the above and more has led to the expansion of APIwiz’ GTM Team with the goal of making its footprint across North America and Europe as well.

Product Milestones
Q2 has been an exciting time of the year for APIwiz from the product milestone point of view. Four key highlights from product have been:
Portfolio Management Dashboard:
API programs today are riddled with challenges such as API sprawl which make it difficult to get insights into the whole API program. Moreover, low API program maturity due to lack of visibility is abundant. With these in mind, APIwiz launched its Portfolio Management Dashboard helping enterprises get full visibility into all the portfolio of services across their entire API program. Enterprises can now define portfolios, services, products and visualize their service workflows from a single dashboard. Another distinct feature of the portfolio management dashboard is its integrated incident management capabilities to track incidents across testing, monitoring, deployments and runtime compliance.
Custom Security Patterns and SDK Support for API Compliance:
With APIwiz’ launch of API Compliance 7 months ago, it became possible to actively track and log breaches in runtime traffic against OAS and OWASP Top 10 Security patterns by enabling custom compliance plugins and policies on the gateway. This has been augmented over Q2 with the addition of support for defining custom security threat patterns to match against during runtime traffic capture. An exciting update for compliance is the extended support for non-gateway fronted microservices with the custom SDKs now available across various languages and frameworks such as Spring Boot (Maven, Gradle), Golang, Python and Node.js.
Azure Gateway Connector:
APIwiz is on a healthy track to introduce a new gateway each quarter. One of the notable additions in Q2 is the Azure gateway connector. Now with APIwiz as the control plane, users can easily configure policy presets, set up new proxies, manage Azure products, certificates, cache, named values and backends. The API Compliance integration comes inbuilt with each new gateway connector introduced on APIwiz.
Support for AsyncAPI and GraphQL:
Asynchronous APIs find a good place within event-driven systems for many reasons, the primary ones being support for non-blocking, scalable, loosely coupled and resilient architectures. Moreover, users are increasingly interested in ways to query specific subsets of data to preserve bandwidth and enhance performance over the network. The APIwiz design studio got two major updates with the introduction of support for AsyncAPI and GraphQL. Developers, architects and other stakeholders can now seamlessly design, collaborate on and document event-driven APIs with the intuitive AsyncAPI editor as well as customize queries to data subsets with the GraphQL studio.
