Q1: That's a wrap

Q1: That's a wrap

2023 started with a bang, with the team working on a number of exciting brand development and communication campaigns for a range of our clients, as well as shaping a number of big pitches for what we hope will be future projects. The new year also saw us launch our own MGA showreel, developed by our Senior Designer Camille Leduc. It showcases some of our recently completed brand and campaign client work. So, in case you missed it, you can watch it here!

In January we completed the communications training course from Team Sterka, something the entire MGA team has taken part in over the last nine months. The programme has helped us to understand and delve deeper into the different types of communication styles, and has provided us with frameworks for how to harness our own styles for better outcomes. It's enabled us to work more cohesively and collaboratively together, as well as with our partners and clients.

We like to celebrate our creative work, and there’s no better way to recognise some of our successes from 2022 than by entering a number of the industry’s prestigious communications awards. The team pulled together to create some outstanding entries to showcase our work, and highlight the great results that these campaigns achieved.

And, hot off the press, we have just been told that we have been shortlisted in the Internal Communications and Engagement Awards in no fewer than six categories (out of seven entries, so we’re pretty pleased with that) for our work with Chubb Fire & Security and Unilever. Congratulations to all those shortlisted and fingers crossed at the awards ceremony in June!

Talking of client work, the month of March saw us complete a 5-month long project with Chubb Fire & Security Group. We were involved with the development, launch and international roll-out of the organisation’s Global Brand Strategy. It was a major exercise which saw our team work closely with the client communications team, the executive leadership team and wider stakeholders in the parent organisation. We spoke to employees from every territory that they operate in and shaped a new brand platform to keep pace with their exciting business trajectory. This refreshed brand strategy has now been launched across the entire organisation, with local markets really getting behind the new approach.

And as if that wasn’t enough to shout about, the SGA Productions crew, our specialist live events division, has only recently docked on dry land after launching a brand new all-singing, all-dancing Wallace & Gromit live show ‘All Hands on Deck!’ for P&O Cruises’ newest ship, Arvia. A world-first and an amazing production to be part of. We’re super proud of the team (and slightly jealous of their work trip to Barbados).

And they have only gone and followed it up in the last week by working with the Football Association at England’s winning match at Wembley on a secret project, to be officially revealed very soon!

We’ve also expanded the team on both sides of the business. We welcomed the vastly experienced Gwilym Lewis to the Group’s board as a NED, and his knowledge and expertise will be much valued; SGA Productions onboarded the excellent Ross Gamble as their new Creative Producer; and MGA have been inspiring (and inspired by) future-industry talent, Zach, who has joined us for a 2-month work experience placement.

It’s been a busy Q1, with lots to talk about. Some great new projects delivered, with some exciting new opportunities to come in the months ahead. And catching up with some of the team last week was lovely too.

Wow - we have had a busy and successful Q1. It’s not until you see it written on paper that you fully appreciate the hard work and effort from the entire team on both sides of the business. Great work all. Onwards and upwards!
