The last few months have been anything but uneventful for BCV. We announced the close of two funds worth $1.9 billion to find and fund the best founders. And, like all of you, we navigated the impact of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse and its ensuing fallout.
We remain squarely focused on supporting and finding solutions for our founders, rain or shine. Coming out of that, relationships and partnerships are that much more important across the venture ecosystem. We are energized to build on existing and new ones this year, working with founders from seed through growth.
- In Q1, BCV announced a record $1.9 billion across two new funds. These funds will support founders from their earliest ideas all the way through taking their companies public. As Partner Enrique Salem told?Fortune, now that BCV is armed with two new funds, “We’re leaning in. - Wonder?shared insights and learnings from its recent shift from a food truck business to a brick-and-mortar model.
- Two investing Partners joined our team,?Saanya Ojha?and?Slater Stich. Both bring?invaluable experience?to our infrastructure, apps and fintech domains, including leading a stage-agnostic global fintech practice and founding a data-focused seed fund, respectively.

- In January we kicked off our scout program, Magnify, with a series of dinners for our 2023 cohort. The gatherings, which took place in both New York and San Francisco, served as an opportunity for new program participants to commune, connect and feel energized for the year ahead.?
- In March, we had our ShopTalk Happy Hour, which we hosted alongside Coresight and Bain & Company. The event brought together commerce tech changemakers.
- Throughout the quarter, we also hosted a number of dinners and happy hours for various venture communities in both New York and San Francisco. Some highlights included our poker night with Susa Ventures, our dinner for early founders in the Bay Area and a founder/funder happy hour at Stanford.
