Python Django Software Developer #hiring

We are a technology company and we work with open source software. We are looking for a new fan-of-technology software developer to join our Team. We focus on Open edX projects of all kinds and we have the most diverse topics, so we are looking for someone with experience in Python or LMS Software. The spot is already open, and we would like to fill it as soon as possible.?

Your top responsibility is going to be to work with the Open edX platform. Your main duties will be to maintain and support the Open edX platform across releases, extend the platform and work on bug-fixing and contributing those fixes and features back to the community.

Required:

• 3+ years working experience in Python and Django Framework
• Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL
• Experience with Rest APIs
• Experience with docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with OAuth, SAML and SSO and 3rd party integrations
• Understanding of security compliance
• Comfortable in working with infrastructure tools such as Ansible and familiar with Linux command line, Docker, Kubernetes (Optional)? and more
• Well structured, oriented to detail and eager to keep on learning

Optional:

ReactJS, HTML, SASS, Ruby

Bonus points if you know:

Experience in Open edX and XBlocks customization, LTI, Cloud computing

Qualification:

• Bachelor or Master in computer science
• Team spirit and good communication
• Be Self-Driven and Creative
• Interest in e-learning solutions and Open Source Software
• Read and written English (German and/or Italian language skills are of advantage)

A normal day in your life will include:

• Work on upgrading the Open edX platform to the next release, ensuring that the Abstract platform customisations play well with the new upgraded codebase.
• Think through customer problems and business needs, find reasonable solutions
• Fix a bug in the Open edX platform, write automated tests for the fix, and contribute the code upstream.
• Review Open edX open source PRs.
• Review internal Abstract PRs.
• Help the Professional Services team identify and implement integrations with the Open edX platform.
