PWM Signal Processor

With years of work in the area of Pules Width Modulation (PWM), it is now possible to do so much more than just amplification, RF demodulation and signal processing are now possible with this new technology. I have been inform I now have Patent number three in this interesting area of technology, it seems that I am the only one working is this area of research. There are three main uses for this technology, as I have gone over before in detail, now 3 Patents and another 2 waiting to be filed. With the two waiting, I am holding back on this, as I do not want defence contractors to get this information, once it goes public through the Patent system and been cut out of the loop.

The main area of development has been to date in Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) as this is a key part of the signal processing stage for the AM broadcast ground based PNT system. I also see applications in Narrow Band TeleVision (NBTV) to correct for phase errors using sky-wave propagation, to maximise the the recovered information. As an extension of this Radar systems is an other possible use application, where it has a lot in common with the PNT system in working out distance.

Without giving to much away here is a very basic overview of how the process works, this all done with the pulse function of the type of PWM used, as each has a different affect on the output waveform. By combining pulse functions within logic processing blocks, it is possible to change the way the output works, an the way of phase and amplitude, that can be pre-set by the user (Like an analog computer, but within a FPGA).

It seems there has been a lot of views of these PWM topics over the years, I hope by showing I have Patents and working prototypes, that I can the required funding to develop this tech to the next level. As the radio navigation technology has been waiting to be scaled up for the last five years, with all the issues around GPS by now it would been ready to rolled out across the US and Canada.

The next project would the phase error correction part of this technology, where experiments have been done with long distance signal and data transmissions with the MESH and NBTV systems. Whereby information can sent without the need for satellites using HF and VHF radio propagation, using the Class Q high performance amplifier and the advance phase detractor all using a form of PWM.

I am sure there are many other applications for this technology, as it is possible to use PWM at much higher frequencies now, with newer and faster transistors that are now available. The key part is bean able to do a large amount of signal processing within the area of analog using digital devices. This can be done before the any digital processing or in parallel with DSP tools, in providing a way to analyze signals to maximise amount information recovered. It also possible to do a direct analog to digital conversion, where the PWM is converted to Pulse Code Modulation (PCM), this is an other area to explore within this technology, as it is very simple to interface the digital to the analog and vice versa.
