FRP relies on a clear film to be non poreous and Antimicrobial silver ions cannot be added to FRP.?

Recyclable ?

Jemiclad PVC wall panels can be recycled easily with local recyclers. Jemiclad can be recycled up to eight times and has a lifespan of around 150 years.?

FRP is?often just thrown into a landfill because it is almost impossible to recycle. FRP is derived from polymers and monomers that quite often can not be separated and returned to their original base. This is an issue that increases the importance of asking businesses to seek to uphold sustainable, corporate environmental and social responsibilities.?

Health and Safety

When PVC splits, cracks, fractures or is damaged, there is NO release of toxic particles or Harmful Fibres into the air.?

When FRP splits, cracks, fractures or is damaged, small dangerous Fibres are released into the atmosphere and can be inhaled?potentially causing lung problems or come into contact with skin causing itch and rash.. Working with FRP is potentially hazardous to workers involved in installing or removing it, or anyone routinely involved in building maintenance and repair. People who work with FRP should wear protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses with side shields and use a particulate respirator to ensure safety and health.? ?These isues do not present a problem with Jemiclad

Custom Thermal Forming

Jemiclad PVC cladding can be custom thermoformed on-site during installation ensuring a clean professional high level fnish.?Jemiclads ability to do this removes the need for inside and outside, vulnerable edge joints around corners, recesses, windows and doors. Gone are the days of buying stainless steel corner guards to protect the vulnerable FRP corners. This also solves the typical problem these weak points create by allowing moisture and pests to penitrate behind the panels.?

FRP cannot be thermoformed and relies on what we feel is sub standard corner trims.?

Trim Details

FRP trim are a 1 peice extruded style trim that DO NOT make a water tight seal. The solution for this is to apply messy, cumbersome silicone that temporarily solves this problem. However this is not a long term solution and usually fails within 1-2 years after aplication.?Also FRP trims make removing the FRP very dificult when maintenance or service is required behind the sheet or if you just wanted to replace a damaged sheet in the middle of the wall.?

This trim also fits nice into Budget Friendly Builds.?Jemiclad also offers our 2 peice divider trims that have a water tight gasket. This make removal of and damaged sheets or gaining acces to behind a sheet easier.?Jemiclad Cold Weld sytem is a specialy formulated low modular product that can be applied to the joints with a standard caulking gun.?This too can be cut later if replacing a sheet or accessing water or electrical issue behind the sheet.?This is our most waterproof system in the DIY contractor collection.?Jemiclad can also be PVC heat welded to meet the strick requirements of Hospital and Healthcare. However this takes someone with a trained installer with PVC welding experiance and tools.?This can be done by a PVC cladding installer or a sheet good / safety floor installer farmiliar with joint welding.?

Colours

Jemiclad PVC cladding is coloured throughout, resistant to ultra violet light and weathering. Jemiclad is guaranteed against fading and degradation for 21 years. Jemiclad is the only answer for long term interior cladding solution that will create a beautiful finish and still maintain one of Canadas highest standards of hygiene in a variety of healthcare, Cannabis, Wash down areas, Commercial food safe kitchens and manufacturing environments of all kinds.

FRP is a coloured cladding that is known to fade in sunlight, resulting in unsightly 'surface discolouration and Hazing'.

White FRP quite often turns yellow and darker colors can lose their original food safe sheen all while fading noticeably. This leads to a dirty unkept apearance and will need to be replaced to keep your effected area looking new and clean.?Even though the structural integrity and corrosion resistance of the material is probably OK. Scratches on the coloured FRP often appear white or lighter than the surface.

Summary

The facts are clear that PVC is to FRP now. as FRP was to 6"x6" white ceramic tile back in 1999. And I have been there through all of it. I work hard since my second year in 2000 to bring medical grade PVC wall protection into the commercial construction world. However the PVC Companies back then were to big for the little guy. They were busy only doing large government Healthcare projects and in my opinion lost touch with the needs of the trades and designers. But now with the great team we are building at Jemiclad Global, we are educating and updating the old design Dogma. It is time to update from old outdated, hazardous, itchy FRP.
