Putting Words in Our Mouths
The development of critical thinking skills, and thus, listening and speaking skills is in disarray. Technology amplifies. It makes it challenging, and sometimes near impossible, to be a classroom conductor.
What are the ground rules for treating each other with dignity and respect?
How does the possibility that someone will record you and/or film you shape how you behave?
How does the possibility that someone will take physical and violent issue shape your willingness to facilitate difficult conversations?
I hate the thought of ending my career disconnected from serendipitous classroom conversation. Imagine me a fully scripted and edited talking head (for those of you who know me, you can’t). But, perhaps that is the price of not having my career ended for me.

1 年So many good points Rocki and I certainly cannot imagine you as a talking head in the classroom!

1 年Best professor I ever had. Hands down. Thankful for Rocki. Unfiltered years ago……the original out of the box thinker.
