Putting GOD FIRST: Response

Put God First: Response

Our country is shifting and it’s heading in the wrong direction. How often are we challenged, fall short or fail in our stand for and with Christ during adversity? Our relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit should be intimate, unique and loving. When situations or contentions arise to defend our faith, do we stand there with closed lips to the worldly pressures or do we take a stand with our spiritual sword and trust in God? When our time comes will we speak up or will be back down and excuse ourselves away from controversy.

Reason for this post is to answer a request with out calling out anyone or be disrespectful. This person asked me if I would remove my banner to promote my LinkedIn page. At first, I was like is my page unprofessional? I could remove that, so others could prosper, but then 3 things came to mind right away. First, when Peter denied Jesus 3x times before the cock crowed that morning, Second, was when I promised I would never deny God, no matter what that would mean to my career. Lastly, I remember the book that I am currently reading, which is called, God Is My CEO. One of the best books out there on the market for those that desire to be successful in all aspects of their life while serving and living by Gods principles in the bottom-line world.

Per GOD is my CEO by Larry Julian; here are the main principles that these multi-millionaire and billionaire are structuring their companies Mottos around.

Unwritten Business Rules                                           Gods principles

·    Achieve results                                                       Serve a purpose

·    What can I get?                                                      How can I give?

·    Success =dollars                                                     Significance=people

·    Work to please people                                            Work to please God

·    Fear of the unknown                                               Living with Hope

·    Leadership is being first                                         Leadership is being last

·    Take charge; surrender means defeat                      Let Go; surrender means victory

·    You can never produce enough                               Unconditional love

·    The end justifies the means. No matter what  Do the right thing regardless of out-

it takes to get there.                                                come.

We frequently view this predicament as a heart struggle between right and wrong. Seems that we are faced with a troubling choice; either we embrace bottom-line success and turn away from God, or we accept and live by God’s principles and suffer whatever negative business consequences come our way. Cannot do both! At our very core, we want meaning and purpose in our life and careers. We are looking for appreciation and affirmations for our contributions, nourishing answers to ethical dilemmas, clarity and direction during the confusion, and a sense of fulfillment. This crosses every layer of management and extends across race, nationalities, religions, and genders. We all want to do the right thing, but often surrender to the short-term bottom-line demands of our daily lives. God wants us to be fruitful. Not only does He plant the enthusiasm into our hearts, but He also gives us intrinsic desires to contribute, add value, and connect with others in some meaningful endeavor.

I, unapologetically, stand with Christ. Laws may be passed or implemented trying to change the landscape of our nation, but the scope of all that’s right and just before God. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. Don’t be like all the others; leaving our Lord standing there in the garden alone to defend for himself. Make a stand, be obedient and be His child; receive his unconditional love, will and His perfect plans. Remember this above all other things you may believe! If God is for you, then no one can be against you. What God blesses, no man or woman can undo His blessings upon you. Are you going to stand in the shadows and serve the world or are you going to make the stand with your Lord and Savior and make Him smile and be proud of you?

So, bottom line is this, what makes me better than God or the CEO’s across the world that utilize God’s principles to run their multi-million or billion-dollar business while during the right thing? If they can be in God’s good grace and successful, then why shouldn’t I keep God first in all that I do, be obedient, and always give Him thanks for all that He is in control of and be prosperous. I choose to leave my banner for those that need a reminder and for those that surrender to Putting God First in all that they do.

Nicely said, we’re living in a world that all too often takes offense to those principles that make us who we are. I’m a follower of Christ, that doesn’t make me perfect, it just means I’m held accountable to a higher authority that transcends the rules of men. Hopefully, my life demonstrates that commitment to God first then to man.
