Put yourself on the Map, with Instagram’s New “Maps” Sticker

Instagram has a habit of surprising us with something new, almost every day. Log into the app and view your friend’s story, or try posting one and you are bound to come across something new and exciting. This week’s latest discovery by Jane Manchum Wong, is that Instagram is working on a new ‘Maps’ sticker for Stories which would display your location on a world map.

You’re probably wondering what exactly a map sticker does. Basically, it displays a section of a world map image, including a marker for your location. Instagram has taken measures so that users do not share their precise location, however users don’t seem to have privacy concerns, and are more interested in providing more context through location-based tools.

Since “A picture is worth a thousand words”, a map sticker would give users yet another way to quickly, visually add context to their Stories frames. Talk about making your mark on the globe.
