Put Your Team's Safety on Auto Pilot: Harness the Power of Habits to Protect Your People and Your Bottom Line

It’s no secret that unsafe workplaces are expensive in terms of money and in productivity. Companies around the world have committed to creating safe workplaces and have invested heavily in expensive safety training for their employees. But the #1 problem that companies face today is transforming that knowledge into consistent safety practice.

If you’ve been disappointed in the results of your safety training then you know the painful truth that knowing is not enough. Employees may know what to do. They may even want to do it. But they don’t do it. Even the best intentions don't translate into results you can count on when safety is on the line.

This training is designed specifically for senior safety professionals whose organization already invests substantially in their employees' safety, but are still experiencing unsafe behavior and injuries. The most effective way to change how your employees typically think, respond, or act is to transform it from a conscious act into an unconscious act. In other words, make it a habit.

Tired of saying the same thing to your employees? You will leave this session understanding why people do what they do and how to change it.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the limitations of willpower, and why habit trumps willpower every time. Your willpower isn't always there for you when you need it, and there are 3 reasons why.
  • Explore the neurology of habit. Learn what neuroscience reveals about what is happening in the brain when a person engages in habitual behavior, and how you can use it to maximize the effectiveness of your existing safety training.
  • Learn the 7 Safety Habits. These 7 habits will help you and your team save lives, reduce injuries, and increase your profitability.
  • Learn the anatomy of a habit. Discover the 3 components of a habit you must address if you want to transform a desired behavior into an automatic practice.
