Welcome (back) to Put Me in Coach, where I drop the opportunities I came across over the week & weekend. I aim to post new opportunities each time so that you can use each of these as different reference points. As these continue, I'll try to include more opportunities/industries beyond the ones that I simply see on my feed as several of you have reached out about some roles that I wasn't covering. Honestly, I'm just excited to be helping y'all. Whenever someone lands a role from this, utilizing advice I've given or from a connection I helped facilitate, that's a win for me... and it's addicting.
Now, I don't have much info on this, but
Noel Cottrell
is up to something. Had the pleasure of working him in ATL at
Fitzco
and loved everything about it. Give his page a follow if you're curious.

Multiple resumes are my (not so) secret weapon. When it comes to sharing resumes with potential employers, I love to have versions tailored toward a couple of things.
- Nothing beats the basics: I still have a general resume. This simply covers where I've been and my jobs at a surface level. It's essentially a summarized LinkedIn cover sheet.
- Keep it to a page: Now, as you go through your career and tack on more accomplishments, it's a bit more understandable if it starts to extend. However, if you're just starting or in the middle, I'd avoid making it longer than one page (or overly wordy).
- What I was doing vs. wanted to be doing: This one is an amazing tool if utilized the right way. It's not about lying! What I'm saying here is to not only identify the things you did for your job, but also be able to speak to any changes you tried to implement.
- The JD is your weapon too: Yes, job descriptions (JDs) are just a ton of words. They never really capture what we do in our day-to-day. However, when looking at potential roles, be sure the version of your resume you're sending off reflects how you've done things they're looking for. Even if you are coming from a different field, there are still ways to show you have the core competencies. Which leads me to the next point...
- It's all about the story: Your resume is legit, just a piece of (digital) paper. You can make it fancy, pay someone to draft it, keep it scrappy, send it alongside a cover letter, etc. Regardless of how you dress it all up, it falls flat if there's no story. Being able to pull people in with the results but elaborating with a narrative that not only touches on success but your overall way of thinking sets you apart.
Remember, take all of these with a grain of salt. It's surface-level advice, but it's what I go into when working with people on their resumes/portfolios. I'm sure there is a recruiter somewhere who is looking at these points and rolling their eyes ha. That said, these things have worked for me!
*Again, a special shout out to
